I believe the original patent for this product was filed in 1983 from someone in Japan. This means that the patent has expired being it is now 17 years from the date of file. Your group Zap Cap, only holds a trademark on the name, not the design of the product, other than of the stainless steel variety. The way I understand it, anyone can use the original design to create a new product or one very similiar. Your trademark protection is just for your name and the labels on the opener, not the design and the utility of it. Additionally, your "patent" is only valid in the uk, correct?
