It is not the fault of the rotato I have had the same problem,try pushing the potato further down on the drive the problem is that the potato is not low enough on the drive spike before the cut out switch activates, therefore allowing the blade to catch the Plastic which is harder than the potato drive spikes and forcing it out of it's holder
try this I think you'lfound out this is th problem let me know how you get on.
