I have had the exactly same thing happen to me, I've bought two new potato chippers in the last six months and I only serve fries once a week. I also would like to be able to purchase a replacement blade, did you ever get an answer about a replacement? In the past I have always been impressed with the quality of Starfrit products, but after this experience, I think I will think twice before purchasing another one of their products.
